The Unique Glazed Roof Tiles

Roof tiles are the upper house for final pitched and steep roofs. These roof forms are mainly found in humid regions again in order to ensure rapid drainage of rain water. The impermeability of the brick is set by a European standard (EN 539-1). They are usually fired clay and may differ in shape and finishing. There is for example, steamed colored, and glazed roof tiles.

When glazes are hard, glassy and partially colored coatings. Glazed tiles are characterized by a sealed surface. This seal protects against weathering and reduces the settling of unsightly algae and fungi. Therefore, see roofs covered with glazed tiles for a long time from new.

This glaze is made up of many components, include quartz, limestone, soda ash, potash, dolomite, feldspar and borax. The glaze is at about 1600 degrees Celsius and then baked ground to a fine powder. This is mixed with water. By then formed, called the tile glaze slurry is sprayed. Following tile and glaze are fired simultaneously, and as result is glazed tile (also: roof tiles). On the bottom is omitted a glaze, to ensure the moisture regulation of the house.

Through the glaze, individual color effects are well achieved. There are some addition to the traditional colors like red, black, brown, green, yellow and blue glazed tiles with today's processing, especially charcoal, gray, light blue and even white are used. In selecting the desired color, however, the regional building codes are observed. In addition to color, you can also by the nature of the surface structure, which of smooth or glossy to matt goes out of his house is a unique piece. These different structures occur, depending on time of day and light as well as other external influences such as rain, dew and frost, to the other color effects.
