TV wall decor

Decorating a console or hanging from the wall especially space above your TV is frequently a problem. There are several decorating tricks that you can use to allow your television blend into the room instead of standing all alone on the wall accidentally being your focal point.
Something you have to do with your wall mount TV is to make it into a piece of art. For example, you might hang framed Kanji symbols in bold black strokes around the mounted screen and make the television look like part of a collection of decorative wall art, then by painting the entire wall red, you create an anchor wall with an impressive art display. By incorporating your television into a larger design idea on the wall, you cause you TV to no longer be the center of attention in that space.

If you are at all handy, you may want to create a wall mount console in which to house your television. That way when you are not watching it, you can hide it away in an instant. The other thing that is great about this design solution is that you can add as much storage as you want to hold your DVD collection. You can make the surround pop off of the wall if you paint it a contrasting color, or you can make it disappear into the wall by painting it the same color as the wall.
You can also make the TV fit into the theme of the room. If your media room features musical memorabilia, accent the area around the TV screen with appropriately sized framed music art and  musical notes wall decor as an example. Always be realistic and work with what you have. Even if you would give your eye teeth for a minimalist look when it comes to your television viewing area, if you have tons of equipment, DVDs, players and CDs, then you need to be practical and design a wall that can incorporate all of the storage that you need. You can still keep the lines clean by adding shelves with decorative storage bins or even with cabinet doors. Then you can keep your paint colors clean and crisp to give your wall a modern and fresh look.

Always remember that this is your room, and you can make it into anything that you wish. One fun thing that you can do with a wall mount TV is to treat it like an oil painting. All you do is hang it on the wall and use molding to frame it out. You can make the frame much larger than the television screen and add wallpaper matting behind the set to give the illusion of a painting or photo hanging on the wall. This trick gives the effect of a piece of art hanging on the wall and is a great way to disguise the TV in the room.
