How to make an imitation marble

For centuries...marble is a noble and very classy indeed, its price remains high. To imitate marble home, we will have you improvising artist, as this was a painstaking where creativity is an asset. Before undertaking the imitation marble, experiment on smaller areas and eventually rectified. It will dilute the paint in the glaze in advance so they are easier to apply. For the realization of the paint, start with the background color by passing two or three layers on the surface to be coated. Then, using a brush, apply the predominant color by drawing vertical stripes. To create a gradient effect that is more natural, use two tones very close to the predominant color.

Once the surface is painted well, think of imitating the veins of the marble using a quill pen or a very fine brush. To do this, the irregular features, do not take a geometric shape...!, because this is not the case of true veins of marble. Wipe the edges beyond with newspaper or clean cloth. Regarding the shade of the veins of marble, you should use a color that contrasts with the predominant color. In principle, we chose the darker. To polish it off, apply a thin layer of white paint, then two or more coats of varnish.
